Entrepreneurs Get the Carrot

The last two days the Dilbert cartoon really hits home about what it is like to have a job and how most people are valued. I love Dilbert. Dilbert reminds me of what I no longer have to deal with in Corporate America.

Read the first cartoon, then the second cartoon so you can see the total progression.

In the first cartoon, you’ll notice that a carrot is dangled in front of the employee enticing them of the illusion of freedom and security. However as an employee it seems like you never quite get that.

Looking at the second cartoon, notice how the tide shifts. This was common practice when I was working in Corporate America. Anytime things were looking bad management felt like they could bully people by threatening employees with loosing their jobs.

I remember being threatened many times over my 15 plus years. This grew very tiring not to mention it felt demeaning.

Unfortunately most people fall for the illusion that a job will provide them freedom and security. If this is you, it is time to wake up.

There are more layoffs coming. Ford today announced more layoffs. There are numerous other companies that are doing the same. Thousands of people are loosing their jobs. Do you call this job security?

To get real security you must get the right entrepreneur training so that you understand where freedom and security really comes from. Do you want to take a guess?

It’s from within.

You are your own source of freedom and security. As an entrepreneur only you can fire you. And guess what? I don’t think that will ever happen.
