Your Family Can Steal Your Entrepreneurial Dreams

I was out of town for the past couple of weeks. During my business trips I took some time off to visit family in Chicago. Chicago is where I grew up.

It was great to see my parents and my grandmother again. My grandmother is almost 90 and I though it would be a good idea to visit because I don’t know how much longer she will be with us and I know she would like to see her grandson.

After visiting with my family I understand at a deeper level why I don’t like to stay very long. Don’t get me wrong I love my family. The challenge is dealing with the negativity.

Yes, my family is negative. And to make matters worse, the longer I am with them the more negative they become.

Have you ever experienced something like this?

My guess is yes. After working with thousands of people this is a very common pattern that I recognized.

Even after writing and publishing multiple books, creating CD’s and becoming a millionaire my family still doesn’t believe that I can survive as an Entrepreneur let along thrive.

The reason my family believes what they do and is negative is because they don’t know any better. They don’t realize what they are doing. They have not had the Entrepreneur Training that I had that allowed me to take control of my life and destiny.

So what do you do when your family is negative and tries to steal your dreams?

That’s a good question.

I suggest you limit your exposure to them. Call them less. See them less. Stay away from them more.

Now it doesn’t mean you should not love your family any less. Remember they don’t know any better and you do. Plant the seeds to help them out. Maybe at some point they will come around. It is not your job though to make them positive.

Your family is doing the best job they can with what they have. That is what my family does. It’s not their fault and I don’t blame them. It is the conditioning they received from their parents and role models.

To be a successful entrepreneur it is up to you to remain positive no matter what and who you are with. This is not always easy but is essential.

So if you are hanging around negative family members or friends just limit your exposure. This will help you tremendously to move forward and Achieve Your Dreams as an Entrepreneur.

Remember your family loves you and wants to make sure you don’t get hurt. They are working out of ignorance just like we all did before we got Entrepreneur Training.
