How Secure is Your Job

I found an article with the following headline IBM to triple investment in India to $6B.

Now you may be asking so what does that have to do with me?

Good question!

What this article is telling you is that more and more service jobs and high tech jobs are being outsourced to India. This is good for India but what does it mean to the people in the United States?

This means the job market in the United States is getting tougher and tougher. More of out higher paying positions are going overseas.

Realize that you can hire 8 Indian workers for every one US worker. That is a huge savings for any company. Even if the efficiency of the Indian worker is 50% the companies are still ahead.

The real bad news for US workers is Indian workers are very efficient and quick learners. They also have a very good work ethic which many people in the US don’t.

So if you think you really have job security, guess again. The situation is only going to worsen as more and more third world countries get educated and come on line.

So what must US workers do?

The more secure approach is to Become an Entrepreneur!

I know what you are thinking…I can’t do that because I don’t have the money, the time, or don’t know how.

The truth is you must change your thinking or you will be caught like so many others who have been down sized. Finding another job that pays well is getting tougher and tougher and there is much more competition.

Years ago the US was desperate to find qualified workers. Now US workers are desperate to find work. The tides have shifted and so must you.
